I was born in the Philippines, and though childhood took me on frequent moves, Palawan remained the heartbeat of my upbringing—a place where I found belonging amidst change. In 2004, I arrived in the United States, stepping onto new soil to pursue the promise of possibility.

Photography wasn’t my inheritance—I didn’t emerge from a family of photographers. But creativity flowed through my roots: art, curiosity, imagination—it was always there. And so I found my calling behind the lens.

I admit: I know very little about spirituality. Yet in that very uncertainty, I find beauty and openness.

I was raised amidst a tapestry of beliefs and traditions. My first language was Ilocano, followed by Kapampangan, and Tagalog, which was the language I spoke most fluently throughout my childhood—each carrying its own rhythm, history, and subtle wisdom.

Though I grew up immersed in Catholicism, Islam, and Christianity, I have also walked the paths of Zen Buddhism and Hinduism, drawn to their mystical depth and serene presence in this world.
